After nearly three weeks in Italy (
Rome
,
Tuscany
,
Florence
, Torino & Cuneo), our appetite for pizza and pasta had sufficiently expired and the language barrier had taken its toll. We were now only two trains and four hours away from arriving in Nice; a few days of French Riviera relaxation.
A steep, fifteen minute walk up Parc du Château and you are treated to stunning views of the Mediterranean, Promenade des Anglais and Port de Nice.
Looking East over Port De Nice.

Hotel le saint paul
Stunning sunset view from the fourth floor of Hotel Le Saint Paul; looking over Port de Nice, Parc du Château and on to Promenade des Anglais. No, this wasn’t our apartment; we opted for budget while our friend Natalie chose views—this was particularly impressive.
Looking east toward Mont Boron.

Fun atop Parc du Château.

Nice was my first coastal visit in the Northern Hemisphere. The views are spectacular, the swimming is pleasant and the people seem relaxed and inviting. The lack of sand on the beach leave you feeling clean while the cool sea temperature is refreshing. The one downside of our time in Nice, only spending three days instead of a whole week.
